- Hi, I'm trying to set up RAD: under AmigaDos 2.1 and am having some
- problems. What I want to do is 1) have "RAM DRIVE" appear on the
- workbench screen when it first opens, instead of waiting until I
- access it, and 2) make sure that it isn't bootable, as for some reason,
- my system wants to boot from any bootable device (df0:, df1:, and
- eveb rad: - even though there are no files there!) before trying the
- hard drive.
-
- What I've done is copy the DosDriver to the WBStartup drawer, adding
- BootPri=-129 to the file, and Mount=1 to the tool types in the icon,
- and Path and Relabel commands in the user-startup file. But I keep
- getting errors like "RAD already exists" (which is understandable, as
- by definition, it survives a reboot) or "RAD is not mounted - Relabel
- failed" or something like "RAD not yet mounted - wait some more?"
-
- How do I do this right? It occurred to me that the WBStartup concept
- might not be as slick as I thought, and I might be better off just
- mounting it manually in the user-startup file. And another thing...
- *there is a tool type called ACTIVATE= in most of the DosDriver entries,
- but this isn't explained anywhere in the manual!* What does it do?
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
